Israel challenged hunger in the Gaza

Sir Trevor asked the live aid organizer: “The Israeli view is that there is no famine caused by Israel, there is an artificial lack, but it was constructed by Hamas.

“I think the Israelis would say that we don't see much criticism from their side of Hamas.”

In response, Geldof said “this is a false equivalence” and “the Israeli authorities lie”.

The singer then added: “You lie. [Benjamin] Netanyahu lies a liar. The IDF lie. They dangle from hungry, exhausted mothers, in panic.

“And while they arrive to accept the small amount of food that this type of pantomime outfit, the humanitarian Gaza front, I would call it if they dangle, they are willfully shot.

“So far, 1,000 children or 1,000 people have died of hunger this month. I am really not interested in what one of these pages says.”

According to the Hamas Ministry of Health, 127 people have died of poor causes since the beginning of the war, including 85 children.

Geldof added: “If the news feeds and social feeds in Israel were not so censored, I imagine that the Israeli people would not allow what was done in their name.”

He asked the Israelis to protest “to get into their cars, to store their cars full of food and to drive through this border and to stop their own army” and added: “Stop it, people, stop it. Shame to you.”

When asked about the reaction of the British government, Geldof said that it was “not enough”.

“This is a diversion of a matter of 'We recognize the state – absolutely, it should have been done a long time ago, but it will not make any material difference,” he said, referring to the demands for Sir Keir Starrer, Palestine as a state.
