Ellie takes on not one but five icons – Posh, Ginger, Scary and Sporty – and dances to a Spice Girls mashup.

It's a modern salsa with real punch, and Ellie puts her full trust in Vito for several lifts.

At some point she slips into the splits and is thrown across the floor.

In any case, it is a tiring and exciting routine.

“I love the energy,” Craig says, but he thinks Ellie needs more hip rotation – which, as always, draws a chorus of boos from the audience.

He also wishes there were better transitions, but thinks the personality she brings to the stage is incredible.

Motsi lifts spirits, describing it as a “power” and adding that all aspects of her dance grow.

There's another twist for Ellie: her favorite Spice Girl, Emma Bunton, sends a video message to say Ellie is her first choice on Strictly.

“I just want to tell you that I think you’re a superstar,” Emma says, wishing her good luck with tonight’s results.

Now to the important results:

Craig: 6

Movement: 8

Shirley: 7

Anthony: 7

Overall: 28
