Winvest Group Limited Announces It Has Received Approval to Film Its Winnie-the-pooh Prequel in England’s Fabled Hundred Acre Wood

British Weekly December 15, 2023 3 minutes read

Winvest Group Limited (OTC: WNLV) (“Winvest”), an investment holding company with diverse media and entertainment portfolios, is pleased to announce that it has received approval to film its animated prequel film Beyond Pooh Corner in the same magical woodlands that inspired author A.A. Milne’s beloved Winnie-the-Pooh stories. Directed by DreamWorks alum Mike de Seve (Madagascar), the film will be produced by Winvest subsidiary IQI Media Inc. (Alien Code) in partnership with Baboon Animation (Angry Birds).

What was called the Hundred Acre Wood in Milne’s books (including 1926’s Winnie-the-Pooh and 1928’s The House at Pooh Corner) is a treasure of the English countryside located in Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, 30 miles south of London. In 1925, Milne bought Cotchford Farm on the edge of this forest, and his family began spending weekends and extended stays there. His explorations of the idyllic area with his son Christopher would soon beget a tale featuring some of the best-known characters in children’s literature, including Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, Kanga, Roo, Owl, and Eeyore.

Today, this stunning wilderness area containing more than 6,500 acres is owned by the Ashdown Forest Trust and managed by the Conservators of Ashdown Forest. They are committed to protecting a legendary landscape that draws more than 1.5 million visitors annually, many of whom are making a pilgrimage to find the playground of a fictional boy named Christopher Robin and his unforgettable animal friends. Famous landmarks include Pooh Sticks Bridge, the Enchanted Place, Galleon’s Lap, Roo’s Sandy Pit, and Eeyore’s Sad and Gloomy Place.

“The Sussex Film Office is excited at the prospect of working with IQI Media to facilitate this project and bring it to the home of Winnie-the-Pooh at Ashdown Forest,” said Debi Carter, Production Manager of the Sussex Film Office, which has worked with more than 3,500 productions since its founding in 2016.

“We’re thrilled that the Conservators of Ashdown Forest have approved our request to film Beyond Pooh Corner in the real Hundred Acre Wood,” said Charlene Logan Kelly, Chief Intellectual Officer of Winvest and Head of Production at IQI Media. “We feel this lends an incredible authenticity to our Winnie-the-Pooh origin story and helps us all understand where the magic began. We will be partnering with the Sussex Film Office to complete the filming in the forest, which will involve local talents as well as ensure that this enchanting place is preserved for generations to come.”
