Fallon Sherrock and John Part were beaten in the last 64 and 128 respectively on day one of the PDC UK Qualifying School; The top eight players from each day during the three-day event advance to the final round, with the remaining spots decided by the Order of Merit; Two-year tour cards issued between Thursday and Sunday

Fallon Sherrock and John Part failed in their first attempts to reach the final stage of the PDC Q School.

Each day the top eight players from the three-day UK Qualifying School in Milton Keynes and the European Qualifying School in Kalkar, Germany, will secure promotion to the final round between Thursday and Sunday, where two-year Tour Cards will be on offer.

The remaining places are determined via an Order of Merit in both regions, with one ranking point being awarded per game, so Sherrock and Part are not yet out of competition.

Sherrock, the first woman to win a match at the PDC World Darts Championship, saw her hopes of automatic qualification dashed in the last 64 by Hong Kong's Kai Fan Leung.

Part, a three-time world champion and now Sky Sports pundit, won his opening game before losing to Alec Small in the round of 16.

Danny Lauby, Matthew Dennant, Adam Hunt, Mike Warburton, Llew Bevan, Harry Lane, Kieron Bridgwater and Patrick Lynskey promoted from the UK Qualifying School.

Stefan Bellmont, Felix Schiertz, Stefaan Henderyck, Filip Sebesta, Vitezslav Sedlak, Arno Merk, Matthias Ehlers and Anton Ostlund graduated from the European Qualifying School.

Two-time TV title winner Robert Thornton and 2004 World Championship runner-up Kevin Painter were beaten in the final 256cc race in Milton Keynes, while Jelle Klaasen, the 2006 BDO World Champion, lost in the final 128cc race in Germany.

The British and European qualifying schools continue on Tuesday.
