Skype Coin builds a new ecological solution global social industry pain points

British Weekly November 9, 2021 4 minutes read

As a professional team intensely involved in the social field for almost 7 years, Skype has tried 206 mainstream social products around the world and found that there are still many weak points that cannot be avoided and structurally resolved by the current centralization can social products. We have summarized three main aspects: security and privacy, transaction experience and the credit system. From these three aspects we have analyzed 6 core pain points: Core privacy is not protected | cannot make real claims | User communication information is arbitrarily intercepted, stored and analyzed | it is difficult to make a reasonable match with real needs | Transaction Time Cost Great, the process is not protected | a virtual rating / rating / verification system.

We carried out an in-depth analysis and deconstruction of the above-mentioned pain points and delivered solutions from the perspective of Skype, combined with the technical properties of the blockchain. We believe this is not just a technological innovation for social products, but also a disruptive business model innovation for social ecology.

The core privacy is not protected: In the age of the Internet, in which the value of the personal data of the users is increasing, everyone’s willingness to protect privacy is also increasing. However, traditional centralized platforms and various O2O intermediaries are based on the true identity of the users. The need for authentication often requires users to provide critical privacy information for identification: cell phone numbers, ID information, home addresses, bank card information, etc. are all captured and entered. Regarding privacy and security, all users can do this is to be more aware of their security on the Internet, but they have no alternative to the centralized and structured method of capturing privacy. Users’ key privacy and transactional information is willfully sold and stolen, often harassed by advertisements such as house purchases, decorations, loan sharks, purchase refund information, ticket changes and other scams … when it comes to the key privacy information of a dating platform it can be read at will, the harm to the user is worse. With the gradual increase in network activity, users will inevitably leave more and more social marks. Strangers can easily access the user’s most important data protection information via these traces. Once online or offline, disputes can easily be “human flesh” and cause “cyber violence”. Ashley Madison, a famous Canadian extramarital affair dating site, promises to delete all credit card accounts and transaction information after users pay. When the website is hacked, people find that it was never deleted as promised. Instead, the hackers will gradually release user information. Pressing to close has caused irreparable losses to the person and family of the user.

[Skype Solution]

Skype provides users with basic data protection and confidentiality mechanisms. The whole process is similar to a costume party. Skype is responsible for carefully identifying attendees and for entering the venue after they pass. However, upon entering the venue, they all wore masks and irrevocably severed their relationship with their original identity. Skype uses multi-level valid KYC and Bitcoin-like user addresses as unique IDs.

 Don’t make real demands: The users’ core privacy is not effectively protected, which means that users don’t dare to make real and personalized social demands. But even if privacy is protected, users will not have a desire to express their personal needs freely and comfortably if it is a social network with strong relationships (i.e. a social platform with acquaintances who are closely related to offline identities connected is). This phenomenon is pretty evident in the current mainstream social platforms. Compared to Weibo and WeChat, for example, due to the decline in the social functions of Weibo acquaintances, users are more active in expressing increasingly personalized opinions, almost without scruples. After Facebook became mainstream, young people gradually turned to Instagram and Snapchat with better privacy. We haven’t found a social platform that can fully and freely express your personal claims while confirming your true identity. This is not only the reason why social software is positioned, but also the reason why traditional centralized architectures can only offer such limited infrastructure support.
